Cassia tora (Semen cassiae)
The Chinese call this plant food “Jue ming zi,” or “bright eyes.” The seeds or fruit of Cassia tora are commonly used in the treatment of several eye ailments. It also cleanses and refreshes the liver and kidneys.

Based on experiments, scientists have discovered that extracts from Cassia tora seeds possess specific anti-tumor properties. And because they also have natural blood pressure-regulating properties, these extracts are frequently used to treat hypertension. Furthermore, in a recent study, subjects who were treated with Cassia tora experienced a significant decrease in blood cholesterol levels.
