Question and Answer

Millennium

What is Millennium?

Millennium is a concentrated cactus beverage formulated upon the principles of Nutritional Immunology. Besides cactus, Millennium contains royal jelly and honey to provide an excellent source of nutrients for the body.

Cactus is a natural plant food that is rich in phytochemicals. Research has revealed many amazing benefits of cactus. It can strengthenthe immune system, improve cholesterol levels and speed up wound healing.

What are the health benefits of cactus?
Cactus contains large amounts of phytochemicals and antioxidants that can boost the human immune functions. Research by Ferdanez et al has shown that cactus extract can also reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Cactus also lowers blood sugar and promotes wound healing. According to Ben Cao Gang Mu, also known as the Compendium of Materia Medica, which is a dictionary of Chinese herbs, the cactus plant is cooling by nature. It is able to get rid of heatiness and aid in detoxification, making it useful in alleviating many diseases.

Would the chilling effect of cactus harm my health if I consume it on a long-term basis?
No. In fact, according to Nutritional Immunology, cactus has the following properties:
1) Amazing Anti-inflammatory Effect
Stress, pollution, food additives, chemical preservatives, animal products, and overly processed vegetarian foods—all these can sensitize and weaken our bodies, easily leading to inflammation. The “cooling effect” of cactus helps calm inflammations and our bodies to stay healthy.
2) Fountain of Youth
Cactus is rich in phytochemicals with high antioxidant activity. They delay aging by preventing cell damage by free radicals.
3) Powerful Ally Against Cancer
Scientists found that cactus extract increased immune cell activity against cancer.
4) Polysaccharide Power
Cactus polysaccharides contribute to wound healing and immune system regulation in addition to having anti-cancer properties.
Scientific studies show that long-term use of cactus will not reduce cactus’ effectiveness in the human body and will promote overall health.

What are the differences between cactus and aloe vera?
Although the aloe vera resembles the cactus, the former is actually a member of the lily family, while cactus is closely related to the rose plant. Aloe vera grows quickly, taking just eight months to mature while cactus takes many years. Aloe vera is said to be native to North Africa while cactus is native to the American continents. Aloe vera is darker and has long, flat leaves, while cactus is usually lighter colored with fleshy and swollen stems.

What are the health benefits of royal jelly?
Royal jelly is well known for its high nutrition and is even called “the food of life”. Research conducted by Tamagawa University in Tokyo, Japan revealed that the water-soluble protein in royal jelly breaks down into at least five different types of proteins including royalisin, a protein with anti-bacterial properties.

Royal jelly contains hormones. Does consuming royal jelly accelerate cancer cell growth?
No. Research shows that royal jelly contains a small but suitable amount of hormones which meets the body’s needs without any adverse side effects. What’s more, royal jelly contains antioxidants and other substances that may suppress or kill cancer cells. Royal jelly does not accelerate cancer cell growth.

How does E. Excel produce Millennium/Millennium Red?

Tremendous amounts of effort and time go into producing Millennium/Millennium Red. Cactus does not produce much extracted juice. Thus, it takes a large quantity of cacti to produce a single pack of Millennium/Millennium Red. In addition, the cactus requires many years of growth before it is ripe for harvest.

Obtaining the cactus extract is a complex and arduous task. First, the spines and thick epidermis are removed. Next, the cactus gel is used immediately to retain maximum nutritional value. To remove insoluble particles including seeds, the cactus gel undergoes several filtration processes, which remove the micro and macro particles. Microfiltration filters away lung-damaging dust and other substances in the macro molecular range. Ultrafiltration, the final step, separates particles by molecular weight.

When the cactus gel has gone through all these filtration processes, it still retains its effective nutrients, but it is virtually contaminant-free and will not spoil, thereby requiring no preservatives. This filtration process also concentrates the nutrients as they are being filtered.

What is Millennium Red?
Millennium Red contains the same nutritional benefits of cactus extract as Millennium, minus the royal jelly and honey. Instead, Millennium Red is formulated with sorbitol, a natural sweetener found in the berries of the sorbus tree, cherry, pear and other fruits. Research has shown that consuming sorbitol will not elevate blood sugar levels.

How much of Millennium/Millennium Red should I drink daily?
It is best to drink Millennium/Millennium Red several times daily, 15ml to 20ml each time.

What would be the best way to consume Millennium/Millennium Red?
You can either drink it on its own or mix it with other E. Excel products. Add ice for a refreshing taste. It is recommended that Millennium/Millennium Red be poured out before consumption, rather than drinking it directly from the pack, to prevent contamination.

Must Millennium/Millennium Red be refrigerated once it is opened?
Yes. As Millennium/Millennium Red does not contain preservatives, once opened, it should be immediately refrigerated. It does not need to be refrigerated if the seal is not broken.

Which other products are suitable to be taken together with Millennium/Millennium Red?
Millennium/Millennium Red is best complemented with Nutriact and ACT. Taking Millennium/Millennium Red with other E. Excel products can also enhance the overall health benefit.

Sometimes there are white specks in Millennium liquid beverage. Is the product spoilt?
The product is not spoilt and it is safe for consumption. The white specks do not affect the taste of the product. They are harmless gel-like fragments consisting of cactus pectin, plant cell wall etc. They are formed when soluble starches from cactus coagulate in warmer climates and over time.

Why are there no white specks in commercial fruit juices?

This is achieved through treatment with enzymes and lowering the juice concentration.

Commercial clear fruit juices, such as apple juice, are treated with enzymes like Röhalase HT (RO) and Tyazyme L300 (TY) amylases. These enzymes quickly hydrolyze starch contents—soluble pectinaceous materials, hemicellulose and other polymers and colloids. Hence, enzymes are widely used in fruit juice clarification procedures even if filtration is used.

E. Excel does not use enzymes during the manufacturing process of its products so that the natural wholesomeness of plant foods is retained. In addition, Millennium has a very high concentration of cactus. Hence white specks may sometimes appear in Millennium.

What are some signs that show a liquid product is spoilt?
Open the product’s packaging. A liquid product that has spoilt due to improper storage may show some of these signs:
- if a pack of the liquid product appears bloated with gas, this indicates that the product inside has fermented;
- there is a change in taste; and
- the product emits a foul odor.
